The 80MW Noupoort Wind Farm is situated in the Umsobomvu Municipal Area, 10km east of Noupoort in the Northern Cape. Noupoort Wind Farm spans 7500 hectares and comprises thirty-five Siemens 2.3MW turbines.

The wind farm achieved Commercial Operations on schedule and on budget in July 2016, making Noupoort the first wind farm to successfully achieve operations as part of the third round of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP).

The wind farm generates around 304 800MWh annually, enough clean, renewable electrical energy to meet the needs of 69 000 average South African households and will eliminate approximately [6.0] million tonnes of carbon emissions over the project life compared to traditional fossil fuel power plants.
